How Immigrants Helped Define What Was and Was Not Acceptable Politics in The US

      – Louis Dalrymple, “The High Tide of Immigration—A National Menace,” Judge, (New York, 1903).

In this interactive online blog I intend to describe how Immigrants, Immigrant communities, and Immigrant politics served as foundational to the United States’ project of defining itself politically in the 20th century.

Centering around essential cases, crackdowns, repressions, and the occasional political victory, this website will argue that the line of who had acceptable politics in the US was built on Immigrants. I intend to build a thorough argument through the pages of this website, with branching and diverging spaces for further exploration. The main throughline of the web pages will be the argument outlined, but branching posts, widgets and links will enable the reader to explore biographies, discussions of key court cases, pivotal moments in the 20th century, and most importantly outlinings of historiography.

I intend for this to be an evolving project, and one that I hope people will take the chance to contribute to the construction of. For the time being, please email contact@dangerousradicalimmigrants.com, and you can help shape the future of this space exploring political dissidence within the US immigrant world.

      All Best, Sebastian Letts.
